LEA

CASTLE

 THE PROJECT

The detailed architectural design for Lea Castle has been developed by IDP architects reflecting the strong principles agreed at the outline stage.  The new Masterplan uses best-practice urban strategy principles to create a strong narrative of woodland and urban park spaces that combine to create a strong and unique character for the development.

By working with the existing landscape features, the proposals deliver an exciting network of pedestrian spaces to encourage walking and cycling and also to connect into the wider area.  This approach encourages healthier lifestyles and promotes less use of the private car for personal transport.

The proposals provide a mix and range of home styles to deliver a truly mixed community, supported by a mix of tenures to provide affordable housing to support local need in line with Council policy.

The development of this unique former hospital site will deliver a strong mixed community set within an outstanding landscaped context.  Following approval, works have commenced and Cerda are delighted to be following progress of the project and are involved in subsequent applications at the site.
