THE PROJECT

Cerda have been involved in the wholesale re-design and re-development of the Wedgwood Factory near Stoke-on-Trent.

The project’s Mission Statement was to transform the Wedgwood estate into an anchor for the Wedgwood brand that epitomises high quality and luxury.

Cerda obtained permission for a new factory and office premises, together with 205 new dwellings which secured Wedgwood’s continued presence in The Potteries, all on Green Belt land.

Since completion Wedgwood has seen a 30% increase in visitors and 6% increase in spend.

The project involved a comprehensive Environmental Impact Assessment and working with two Local Authorities, Parish Councils and Local Councillors.  The site displays a fine example of how public and private sectors can work together to create exemplary developments achieving more together than the sum of each party’s individual contribution.

THE OUTCOME

This development resulted in one of Cerda Planning’s proudest moments – receiving a RTPI Planning Award for Excellence.
