  • Cerda obtained planning permission for the long-awaited redevelopment of the former college site in Peterlee. Having closed in 2009, the college site had become a visual blight and subject to anti-social behaviour.
  • Through collaborative working with The Harris Partnership, Exigo Projects and MWA, an edge-of centre retail scheme was sensitively designed to bring the site back into use and make a significant contribution to the character and appearance of the area and the vitality of the town centre.
  • The proposal, will deliver a 30,000 sq ft Home Bargains and a 23,500 sq ft Lidl to meet as well as a KFC with drive-thru, a Starbucks with drive-thru and a 5,000 sq ft spec unit.
  • As part of the submission a detailed Sequential Assessment was undertaken to discount numerous sites within and around the town centre.
